Writing about math in computers has helped so much this year because it drills it into my head. It is really easy for me to forget things, especially about school, and this has helped me keep on track. I think that it helped with my math grade and my math skills. I am better at math than I would be if we didn't do the blogs. It will be easier to do common core assignments that will come ahead because they are changing the way we take tests for ever.
Did You know that the educational policy is changing. I did know that. I also know that it means that instead of multiple choice it will be writing out your answer and showing your work. It also may include writing things in class like the blogs that I do. I think that it will take critical thinking to the next level, and it will drill it into our heads, and we will be ready for any thing that comes our way. It will more challenging than any multiple choice question that I have ever seen, and if my answer doesn't make any sense then I can't just choose another answer. It may be harder than sounds, but I am ready for anything they can give me. I will be studying like a stalker, and I will do my best and try my hardest.
I am so sorry that this is going to be my last Math Monday blog for the Year.

How do you balance 2x-7=15. The steps are simple. First you have to get the variable alone. You do that be taking the 7 and subtracting it from itself. That cancels the seven out on one side. Then you subtract the 7 from the 15 on the other side. Next you get 8 from that, and you have 2x=8 all you have to do is divide 2 by 2 and then you cancel out the 2. Next you get x=4.

What are the connections between science and math? Well science is a form of math. It is merged with logic to form of science. Math is also a form of Science. The are plenty of things that bring them together, but the one thing that they have in common is that they originated in Medieval times and has evolved into what it is today. Science is what happens naturally, and Math is also what happens naturally but you have to work it out in your head.

I think the most interesting skill I have learned is the slope and how to find it. I like it because  I like the equation that is used. Y=MxX+B helps a lot, and I may have to use ti someday in life.
The equation helped me understand the slope a little more than what I have learned before. I think that I will use the skill of percentage because I shop a lot.

What are the steps to graphing based on the equation? The steps to graphing are:
  1. First know the equation y=mx+b
  2. Next find your y-intercept the b in the equation
  3. use the slope to detect another point. The slope is the m in this equation
  4. graph it!
Say that you equation is y=3/2x+7. You would multiply the number given,

What was the most challenging thing I learned in math? How did I overcome that challenge? What did I learn from it that will help me in the future. The most challenging thing that I learned was Scientific Notation. It was hard figuring out where to put the decimal. I really had trouble with this one because it was hard to know where to put the decimal.
The thing that helped me overcome this problem was what my mom told me, " Think that the zeros are just there and that they have no purpose. The decimal is the regulator of things that have no purpose. So the zeros are out of there." That really helped. I pretended that the zeros were out laws, and they were sent to jail.

What would be better to use to plan a purchase for food? I would use a percentages to buy my food. I would use that because I am better with percentages and because from personal experience I am better with it.
Percentages are better because you can sometimes easily calculate the percent in your head and the prices of the food. I also would use a percent because ratios don't really explain things too well.

What are some questions that you can ask once you know the equation of a line. The equation of a line is y=mx+b. The b equals the y intercept  The m equals the slope. A question you might ask is "What is the slope?" I will answer you by saying "The slope is how much you go up by. For example the slope is rise over run. Say the rise is 1 and the run is 2. You would shoe that on a line graph. The line intercept is 2. You start at 2 and go up one and over to the right 2.
Another question you might ask would be " Well, what if the number on top is negative. Then what would the slope be?"I will answer you by saying"If the number on top is negative then you would either go down 1 over to the right 2. Otherwise you would have to switch the negative to the bottom. Then you would go 1/-2. You would go up one and to the left 2."

Why are square roots called square roots? They are called that because a perfect square is perfect and 16 is a perfect square. Meaning that if you put 16 on all sides of a square the square would be cut in half it would be perfect triangles. The triangles would come out to be 4 on all sides. If you can put the # on a square and that square is a perfect and you can cut that square in half, and what you get is perfect triangles.
What may be another name for square roots? Another name for square roots would be perfect square. That would be because they have two numbers that go are times by itself to become that number. Like a 144 is one because 12 times 12 is 144.

The Pythagorean theorem is a formula that you use for finding all sides of a right triangle. One situation you would use it would be when a girl is riding her bike out to her friends house she gets 5 feet away, and she remembers she had a gift for her friend she takes a short cut to her right and sees that it's in her bike basket. She goes back up and cuts through someones yard and gets back to where she was.
What you would do would be to
  1. First know your problem then know your equation.
  2. Next your equation is a^2+b^2=c^2
  3. Now all you have to do is solve.
